Welcome to Year 5

There are three classes in Year 5:

5 Greece (with Mrs Edwards)
5 Italy (with Mrs Patel)
5 Poland (with Mrs Henry - Year Lead)

YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING

Reading Every Day

Children need to read as often as possible to improve their fluency and understanding—in Year 5 we are looking at least15 minutes every night. Their Reading Record should be signed by an adult every time the children are heard read. Reading Records will be signed each Monday by the class teacher.

Monday - Spelling Homework

Children will be set spellings to practise on EdShed on a Monday. Activities are to be completed by the following Monday. Children will have a spelling dictation test on a Friday.

Monday - Maths Homework

Maths homework will be set via MyMaths and will be based around what has been taught in lessons that week. Homework will be set on a Monday and due in on the following Monday.

Children are also encouraged to use Times Tables Rock Stars weekly to practise their times tables
